We have a busy week ahead of us!
  •  On Thursday, Mr. Dodd, from the Cobb County Gem & Mineral Society will bring geodes for every 3rd grader to crack open and take home! This is always an exciting day in the science lab.
  •  Thursday will also be another STEM Day for 3rd grade! Our STEM activity will be related to the American Indian regions we have been learning about. Please send in a gallon sized bag of natural materials from your yard or the park such as leaves, pinecones, rocks, small sticks, tree bark, etc)
  • Friday is our field trip to the Booth Museum. This field trip also correlates to our American Indian lessons. If you have not returned the permission form, please do so ASAP!
Here's a look at the rest of our learning planned for the week:

In reading, we will continue our work with text features. Students should be able to identify text features, but also understand how text features can help a reader.

In writing, we are creating a non-fiction book. This week we will focus on adding text features to our writing.

Our grammar focus will continue to be on forming and using verb tenses.

Also, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to our veterans. I know we have at least one parent from our class actively serving. Your service and dedication to our country is something I will never forget.

As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns.

Laura Kloos
